What Is Oral Appliance Therapy?


Oral appliance therapy involves wearing a small, custom-made mouthpiece—similar to an orthodontic retainer—while you sleep. The appliance gently repositions the lower jaw and tongue to help keep the airway open during sleep. This reduces or prevents snoring and, in some cases, can also alleviate mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea.
